Event

Saturday February 9 we will sweatshop 300 badges together :)

Location will be Revspace (The Hague) and we'll start at 13:00. We estimate everything should be done in approximately 2 hours, maybe even less. Maybe more when a crisis arrises ;)

Requirements
  • Empty SAMLA for ESD bags
  • tray for boards
Procedure

  • loose badge-panels on trays -> Soldering station,
  • bags -> Bagging station

Soldering AudioJacks

Audiojacks are not properly soldered, so we'll fix them.

Requirements
  • 2x JBC Soldering station with wide tip (borrow one from Benadski)
  • proper thin solder

Depanelizing

  • Requirements: tablemounted vice, pliers (combinatietang), trashcan
  • What comes in: badge-panels
  • Procedure: Use vice to break side-rails off, use pliers to break tabs. Be careful not to scratch/damage/bend boards.
  • What comes out: trays with Badges -> display mounting, waste -> trash

Display connecting

  • Requirements: wooden picks
  • What comes in: trays with badges, trays with displays
  • Procedure: slightly bent flat-cable, pass through hole, open connector, insert cable, close connector
  • What comes out: trays with badges with display

Software

  • Requirements: laptops with software, USB cables and hubs
  • What comes in: trays with badges with display
  • Procedure: connect badge and wait until autotester appears, if final image shows: pass!
  • What comes out: trays with badges that pass -> mounting, trays with badges that fail -> rework

Display Mounting

  • Requirements: gluedot-gun, Alklanet, microfibercloth
  • What comes in: trays with badges
  • Procedure: degrease PCB and display, apply two gluedots on PCB, glue display on PCB
  • What comes out: trays with badges with a mounted display -> Bagging

Bagging

  • Requirements: Heat-sealer, scissors
  • What comes in: trays with badges with a mounted display, ESD bags
  • Procedure: Three badges in bags, seal, cut into separate packs.
  • What comes out: badges in ESD bags -> Packing

Packing

  • Requirements: Badge-kits, HackerHotel stickers, Sponsor Sticker, Revspace sticker, IR Receiver, empty SAMLA crate
  • What comes in: badges in ESD bags
  • Procedure: add badge, stickers and IR receiver to bag, deflate, ziplock, crate
  • What comes out: complete badge kits!
